Leo Child Safety Standards
This page is the publicly published child safety standard for the Leo mobile app on Google Play. It explains how we prohibit, detect, remove, and report child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
Zero tolerance
Leo has a zero-tolerance policy for CSAE. The following are strictly prohibited on Leo, in any language and on any feature (chat, stories, clips, voice rooms, profiles, files, or calls):
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including photos, videos, livestreams, drawings, or AI-generated imagery of a minor in a sexual context.
- Grooming, sextortion, sexual solicitation of a minor, or trafficking a child for sex.
- Asking for, offering, or sharing sexual content involving anyone under 18.
- Accounts that present as a child for sexual purposes, or that seek sexual contact with a child.
These rules apply even if Leo is not intended for children. Presence or absence of child users does not change this standard.
1. Age
Leo is a social app. It is not directed to children under 13, or under the higher digital-consent age in your country. Do not create an account if you are under that age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has an account, email support@leo.app. We will close the account after we can verify the request.
2. How to report (in the app)
Users can report child-safety concerns inside Leo without leaving the app:
- Open the profile, chat, clip, story, room, or message.
- Tap Report.
- Choose Child safety concern (possible child in sexual content) or another matching reason, and add a note if you can.
You can also email support@leo.app with the Leo ID, phone number, and links or screenshots. Do not email illegal images; describe the content and where it appears in the app so we can find it.
3. What we do when we learn of CSAM or CSAE
When Leo obtains actual knowledge of CSAM or other CSAE, we take appropriate action under this standard and applicable law. That includes:
- Removing the content from Leo as quickly as we can.
- Restricting, suspending, or permanently banning the account and related accounts.
- Preserving records needed for a lawful report or investigation.
- Reporting confirmed CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline, and/or the relevant regional or national authority where we operate (including Sri Lanka law enforcement where required).
- Cooperating with valid legal process from competent authorities.
We also review user reports, auto-flags (abuse, spam, NSFW media), and admin intelligence queues so child-safety reports can be prioritized.
4. Prevention
- Users must be at least the minimum age stated above.
- In-app reporting is available on profiles, chats, clips, rooms, and similar surfaces.
- On-device and server-side moderation help flag sexual, abusive, or underage-risk content for review.
- Staff with access to reports are expected to escalate suspected CSAE immediately. Viewing CSAM except as needed to identify and report it is forbidden.
5. Child safety point of contact
For Google Play notifications about CSAE or CSAM found in Leo, and for law-enforcement or user reports:
- Email: support@leo.app
- Developer account contact: leohousetechnology@gmail.com
This contact can speak to Leo’s enforcement and review procedures and take action when required.
6. Laws
Leo complies with applicable child-safety laws, including prohibitions on producing, possessing, or distributing CSAM, and with Google Play’s Child Safety Standards policy for social apps. We will update this page when our process or contact details change.
